Dear Friends,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you here in Rome for the 29th Congress of the European Association of Public Dental Health (EAPDH).
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we would like to thank all of you for your participation. Your presence and commitment are essential to the success of this Congress and the achievement of our common goals.
This year’s theme, ‘Oral health for all: building a healthier future’, is particularly relevant in the current global dental public health landscape.
We will address key challenges such as: prevention and integration (WHO action plan), evidence-based health policies, broader health and social care, frailty groups and challenges in current dental health systems, with the aim of finding innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the oral health of our communities.
Over the next few days, we will have the opportunity to hear from internationally renowned experts, share our experiences and research, and discuss cutting-edge approaches and strategies. We are confident that this will be a valuable opportunity to enrich our knowledge, strengthen our professional networks and inspire new actions for dental public health.
The coming days will also be an opportunity to spend a few days in the beautiful setting of the Eternal City of Rome.
WE would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed to this event: the speakers, the members of the Scientific Committee, the sponsors, the partners and the organisational staff.
Benvenuti a Roma!!!!

Welcome message from EADPH’s president
Dear Colleagues and Dear Friends
Following our successful conference in Crete which explored the Commercial Determinants of Health, we continue to build on this theme within the framework of the WHO Global Strategy and Action Plan on Oral Health 2023–2030. The first global oral health meeting was held in Bangkok, with the aim of supporting member states to support the Bangkok Declaration on Oral Health and accelerate progress towards achieving universal health coverage (UHC) and reducing the burden of oral diseases across the life course by 2030. EADPH was part of a global coalition to support the implementation of the WHO Oral Health Strategy and Action Plan.We will need to work collaboratively to support the realisation of the action plan locally and regionally to enhance access to equitable dental care in Europe and beyond, integrating oral health into universal health coverage (UHC) and tackling the commercial and social determinants of health. The focus will be to address health inequalities, reduce the burden of oral diseases and strengthen health care systems to meet the needs of our populations.
The theme of this conference is timely ‘Oral health for all: building a healthier future’ will focus on how we achive UHC with the appropriate workforce, explore examples of good practice across Europe and how we integrate oral health into the wider non-communicable diseases agenda.
By aligning policies with evidence-based approaches and fostering global partnerships, we as EADPH community are at a pivotal point in creating sustainable and long-term improvements in oral health outcomes for our populations.
We would like to welcome you alongside our hosts Professor Livia Ottolenghi and Professor Guglielmo Campus whose dedication and efforts have shaped an engaging scientific and social programme for the 29th EADPH Conference in Rome.
We hope you will join us and we look forward to welcoming you in Rome.
Thank you for supporting EADPH.
Benvenuti a Roma!
